My obsession with the phases of the moon has grown.
Which I thought was impossible but I’ve found myself paying closer attention and researching their endlessly entertaining intricacies lately. In part because my astrological sign is Cancer, the moonchild; but mostly because of the knowledge that they move in cycles.
Like the completion of circles, weather patterns, energy cycles and just about everything else in life. The moon has a process an ending, beginning and potent new life each month.
Knowing and accepting this brings me a great deal of comfort and the phases of the moon are a beautifully friendly reminder.
I have also been loving:
Moon Juice Brain Dust which is a supplement that they call “ingestible alchemy” to feed your “cosmic intelligence from within.” I mixed it with my morning coffee and… ok, this is going to sound really hippie-dippy but…
I found that it had a very transformative effect on my consciousness. For real…
I have also been having Yogi Tea: Egyptian Licorice Mint Tea on a daily basis. This blend includes Organic Peppermint, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Ginger and Clove which were “traditionally used as Ayurvedic warming herbs.” I prefer the caffeine free, because I find myself drinking it at all hours of the day.
The Conference of the Birds by Farid Ud-Din Attar. I first heard about this book in a song, became curious and eventually ended up ordering it. When it arrived I was further intrigued by the first line of the description on the back of the book, “The paths of God are intricate and strange.” Which is something I have been thinking a lot about lately with the state of the world the way it is. Although I have been haphazardly reading the verses out of order.
Something that has helped me make sense of some of the more challenging moments and even the endless supply of beauty in the world has been The Artist’s Way series by Julia Cameron. The collection is a revelation for creative people. The first book was recommended to me a couple of different times over the years by different friends. To those friends I would say a very heartfelt and sincere “THANK YOU!” I have been in one of the most creative periods of my life since reading them and appreciate the opening up of that part of my life. If you have an interest in creativity as a spiritual path I highly recommend them as they have affected every part of my life in a positive way.
That’s all for now. I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far…
